One hundred years of solitude

One Hundred Years of Solitude is a novel by Colombian writer Gabriel García Márquez, winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1982. It is considered a masterpiece of Hispanic American and world literature, and the pinnacle of so-called "magical realism." It is also one of the most translated and widely read works in Spanish. The story follows the Buendía family across seven generations in the fictional town of Macondo.
