Mikael Blomkvist at Millennium has gotten wind of a hot news story. Journalist Dag Svensson and his partner Mia Bergman have uncovered revealing information about an extensive sex trade between Eastern Europe and Sweden. Many of the individuals implicated in the trafficking ring hold high positions in society.

At the same time, Lisbeth Salander returns to Sweden, and events from her dark past begin to resurface. When Dag and Mia are brutally murdered, suspicion falls on Salander, and a massive manhunt is launched. Salander decides to finally settle scores with her past and punish those who deserve it. Blomkvist and Salander’s paths cross once again.
