Literary agents
Canada
Canada's literary agents are concentrated mainly in Toronto, with a smaller presence in Vancouver, and represent authors across literary fiction, commercial fiction, and children's books. Given the geographic and cultural proximity to the US publishing industry, a number of Canadian agents also sell rights into the US market or work alongside American co-agents.
Canadian authors writing in French are generally better served by agents and publishers based in Quebec, so the agents listed here primarily serve the English-language market. Federal and provincial arts funding, through bodies like the Canada Council for the Arts, is also worth researching separately, since it can support a manuscript before it ever reaches an agent.
